Fat cows and heifers sold up to £l5 5s per head, this figure also being the best obtained at the yards for a very long period. In the sheep section choice wethers sold at prices up to 50s, the highets level for a considerable number of years. Higher prices were also realised for fat pigs. Prime ewes were readily quoted and were knocked down at from 34s 6d to 41s against the top price of 30s to 34s 6d last week. Fat and unfinished sorts also made advanced money. Hoggets sold at practically the same rates as last week. Generally speaking, fat sheep showed an increase of from 5s a head over last week’s figures. A medium entry of fat pigs, which included a larger proportion of baconers selling up to 925, and medium porkers to 60s. One line of 53 baconers averaged 80s.
