OTOROHANGA NEWS

MR J. G. BARCLAY AT OTOROHANGA. (Our Resident Representative.) Mr J. G. Barclay, Labour M.P. for Marsden, delivered a political address to a good audience in the Friendly Societies’ Hall, Otorohanga, on Friday night. Mr W. Bluck, Otorohanga County chairman and a prominent dairy farmer, occupied the chair. Mr Barclay, who received a very attentive hearing, spoke in eulogistic terms of the achievements of his party since assuming office, and predicted that they would continue to be the Government of the Dominion for some time to come. Mr Barclay regretted that the mem her for Waitomo, Mr Broadfoot, was absent from tlie electorate during the speaker’s visit. Tlie speaker then gave an address on almost identical lines with that given at Te Awamutu the previous evening. It was evident that the audience was principally composed of Labour supporters, as the speaker had a good run throughonut the evening. The usual votes of thanks closed an enthusiastic Labour meeting. N.Z. CO-OP. DAIRY CO. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Otorohanga district suppliers to tlie N.Z. Co-op. Dairy Co. was held on Friday afternoon. Mr J. T. Young, a director, presided over tlie proceedings, which were not open to the press. There was a large and apparently enthusiastic attendance, suppliers afterwards expressing satisfaction with the handling of their dairy products.
