Mrs George Paul, who -has been on a visit to Christchurch, -returned to Te Awamutu to-day.
Miss Ada Berry, of Christchurch, is at present visiting Te Awamutu, being the guest of Mirs George Paul.
The Rev. F. E. Rapps, of Hamilton, will assist at the Anzac Day services at Otorohanga, representing the Presbyterian community.
Mr T. Coupland left Te Awamutu yesterday morning for Auckland, he having received advice the. previous evening of the death there of his uncle.
Mr R. I. Fox, of Rewi Street, received the sad news by cable yesterday of the death of his father, who passed peacefully away at his rest dence, Workington, Cumberland.
Mr and Mrs Dan Geaney, of Darga ville, who have been visiting relatives ir. this district in the course of an ex tended motor tour, left yesterday on their return, via Cambridge, to North Auckland.
In connection with the reversion to standard time, the Railway Department inserts an advertisement in this issue regarding the express from Wellington arriving at Auckland on Sunday morning next.
Mr and Mrs A. E. McMahon, ot Auckland, were visitors to Te Awa mutu on Wednesday. Mr McMahon judged the chrysanthemum and cut flowers sections of the Te Awamutu Horticultural Society’s autumn show.
At a meeting of the Auckland Education Board, Miss M. Bowler was appointed head teacher at Tokanui; Mr K. E. Keaney, sole teacher at Paewhenua; Miss R. P. Bonner, B.Sc., to Cambridge District High School; and Mrs A. T. Barker, assistant mistress at Kawhia. Miss R. Levien, formerly of Hairini, is now appointed to Mount Albert, and Mr S. H. A. Love, of Paewhenua, goes to Pouto.
