ST. JOHN’S AUXILIARY

ANNUAL MEETING. A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. The members of St. John’s Auxiliary held their sixth annual meeting in the Parish Hall, on Tuesday last, when Mrs C. G. Downes (president), presided over a good attend ance and welcome several new members. The annual report showed a satisfactory year’s progress in spite of much serious illness amongst mem • hers. In September, the auxiliary bade farewell to the Rev. Mr and !Mrs S. R. Wareing and in December welcomed oui- new vicar and. his wife, Rev. Martin and Mrs Sullivan. The auxiliarry co-operated with various other Church bodies during the year and looked forward to increasing co-operation in the year to come. Members worked hard for their annual fixture in November and also held a very successful afternoon last month for St. Mary’s Homes. The election of Officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: — Patroness: Mrs M. Sullivan. President: Mrs C. G. Downes (reelected). Viqe-president: Mrs H. A. Swarbrick. Secretary: Mrs G. 0. Jourdain. Treasurer: Miss Empson.
