AS REPORTED IN THE WAIPA POST ON 12th SEPT., 1911. A petition is in circulation in the town for the changing of the weekly half holiday from Wednesday to Saturday. The Tennis Club has under consideration a proposal to shift the courts from the Kihikihi Road to Victoria Park. A large stone axe was discovered by workmen yesterday who are engaged in pulling down Eljnsly’s store buildings at the corner of'Alexandra and Market Streets. Mr J. A. Young, Mayor of Hamilton, announces himself as a candidate for the Waikato electorate. Work has commenced at Te Awamutu railway station, where a veranciah is being erected along the length of the buildings. The tender of Messrs D. MpLean and Sons at £547 has been accepted by the Waipa County Council for the erection of a concrete bridge over the Mangahoe stream in Te Awamutu.
