“The Council still has 111 men employed in ragwort eradication but the number is gradually diminishing and the prospect is that no men will be available for this work next spring. It is noted that the New Zealand Dairy Co. is supplying chlorate of sodium with instrudtions on the package to use as a spray, one pound of sodium to two gallons of water. It has been proved that one pound to five gallons of water is an effective spray land farmers should note that anything stronger than one pound to five gallons of water is an unnecessary waste of sodium.”—Extract from the engineer’s report at to-day’s meetng of the Otorohanga County Council.
