THAMES VALLEY REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION
A meeting of the above Association was held in Baine’s rooms at Paeroa on Tuesday night last. Mr Penlington, president (Paeroa) occupied the and delegates as follows from sub-associations were present: Messrs Turner and W. Jonas (Piako), Crawford (Paeroa), W. O’Neill, J. Mannix and A. Payne (Waihi). Several important matters dealt with at the annual conference of Referees held at Wanganui during Easter time were discussed’, and also various other rules, and uniformity in the decisions arrived at. It was decided to invite Mr Bryden, of Hamilton, who is recognised as a first-class referee, to give a lecture in Paeroa at an early date, and afterwards for him to draw up a set of j examination papers for referees in this Association to do, so that efficient referees will be obtainable for representative games.
A vote of sympathy was passed to the secretary, Mr Dunstan, who lost
his brother last week. This was carried in silence. r A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
