NOT YET REGISTERED

CITY MOTORISTS/SLOW

Official figures go to show that there are quite a large number of motorists in Wellington who have failed so far to register under the Motor Vehicles Act, and who are, accordingly, liable to a fine of £2O for every day on which they use their car. Up till noon on Monday, the following registrations had been received at Wellington: Chief Post Office, 3051; Wellington South, 346; Te Aro, 770; total, 4167. It is estimated that there are about 10,000 cars in Wellington, so that up to Monday over 5000 motorists have failed to carry out their obligations under the Act.
