JERSEY OAKS

At a meeting of the Hauraki Plains A. and P. Association Mr B. E. Veale'stated that the Jersey Breeders’ Club proposed establishing a Jersey Oaks in connection with the association, subject to the approval of the committee. The Club intended that it should be on the same lines as the Hamilton Jersey Oaks. There would be no expense to the show association, and the club would find the prizes. He asked for an expression of opinion on the matter. Mr Reid said he thought the idea was good, and he would be in favour of doing anything to help the Jersey Club. The chairman asked for further information. He was also in favour of helping the club. Mr Veale replied that the club as yet did not have complete knowledge of the working of the scheme, but it was intended to have the same rules and regulations as the Hamilton Club. The chairman suggested that further information should be obtained for next meeting, and a motion to that effect was duly carried. “We all approve of the proposal,” said the chairman,/ to which the members agreed. Mr Findlay remarked that the association was out to help any breeders’ clubs and all breeds.
