WAIKATO MARKET REPORT Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— Beef: The market continues firm for prime steer and cow beef, with good yardings and prices if anything, a little firmer. Sheep: Fat shorn sheep are now coming forward in good numbers and meeting with ready sale at firm prices with a tendency to still improve. Store Cattle: The yardings have beeri big of mostly dairy heifers, the supply being mcjre than the demand with prices for this class somewhat easier; store cows have been* in demand, also all classes of steers are finding ready sale at good money. Lambs: Exporters are offering up to 102 d for November delivery. Store Sheep: There is still a good enquiry for all classes oi stores, ewes \yith lambs, and 2 and 4-tooth wethers changing hands at high prices with not a great number offering. Dairy Cattle: We have about come to the tail'end of the dairys, with little enquiry for this class. Pigs: Fat pigs and, porkers are in demand at about 5Jd to 6d with good yardings, also a very keen demand exists for all classes of stores.

Horses: Good heavy draughts and useful, farm horses are finding ready sale, with little demand for light horses. We quote:—

Bullocks, prime heavy £l2 10/- to £l4, medium £lO 10/- to £ll 10/-; cows, prime £7 10/- to £8 10/-, medium £5 5/- to £6, unfinished £3 to £3 10/-, stores £2 to £2 10/-; steers, Siyear forward £6 10/- to £7 5/, 3i-year stores £5 10/- to \£6, 2i-year good £3 10/- to £4 5/-, others £2 10/- to £2 15/-, yearljng good £2 15/- to £3 5/-, yearling medium £1 15/- to £2; wethers, prime heavy shorn 35/- fo 36/-, medium. 32/- to 33/6; ewes, prime heavy shorn 30/- to 35/-, light 27/6 to 28/-; store wethers, 4-tooth shorn 30/- to 32/-, 2-tooth shorn 24/- to 26/6. .
