Additional support to the project to secure legislation makingthe dehorning of cattle compulsory has come from the published remarks of the general manager of the Meat Producers’ Board, who saw the beneficient results of the scheme in his tour of the Argentine. Last year the Council of Agriculture at its annual con ference decided to press for legislation, and the Board of Agriculture has now resolved to take up the matter with the Minister, as it is felt that a great deal of unnecessary suffering and damage is caused by horned cattle to each other in trucks and yards.
