The followisg is the result of the official count of the Borough election,: Courthouse Council Total
Owing to an error made by the Deputy Returning ■*Officer at the Ocuncil Chambers in totalling the votes recorded at his booth, the totals given by him to the Returning Offiser being considerably in excess of the votes recorded, the figures given at the preliminary announcement were incorrect. An official c:unt, made by the Returning Officer, gives the correct figures as above. The official count of the half-holi-day votes did not affect very materially the figures first announced, the final result bciDg Monday 1. Wednesday 420, Saturday 408, informal 13. The result of the poll will be notified to the Minister of Labour, who will thereupon appoint the day determined by the poll as the statutory closing day for the Borough bj notice in the “ Gazette.’’ The date of the coming into operation of the half-holiday will be fixed by the Min. ister in the notice in the “ Gazette’’ aforesaid, being not later than three months after.
