NOMINATIONS CLOSEED
CONTEST AT M4NAWARU
Ncmnations of candidates for election aa riding members on the Piako County CouLcil closed with the clerk (Mr N. J. Ray) at noon yesterday (Monday). A contest will eventuate in the Manawaru > riding, for Mr F. E. Hughes has decided to stand against the sitting member, Cr. Howard. The nomination, paper of Mr F. M. Strange, a contestant to represent the WiAhou riding, has been signed by the sitting member, Or. W. A, Clark and Mr Geo. Stewart; and that of his oppouent, Mr W, 0. Kennedy by Messrs E. Smardon and H, Keightley.
In Te Aroha riding there will also be an election. Mr Hugh Magill ’nominated by Messrs R. Eckert and W. B, MohriDg) had decided to stand agaiuat the sitting member, Or J. Orr (nominated by Mrs Foughey and H. W. Seales. Tahuua riding *— Messrs E. R. Whitechurch (sitting member) and' J, P. Jensen. Waitoa—Cr F. W. Wallers Walton—Or W. McLean Kiwitabi—Or Jas. Bell Morrinsvillo—Mr W. F. Stark
—Hospital Board —
Mr A. A. Wagstaff was returned unopposed as representative on the Waikato Hospital Board.
—Power Board —
As Piako delegates on the Thames Power Board Messrs J.IB. Thomas and F. M. Strange have bepn returned.
