METHODIST CHURCH

An unusually large number were present at the quarterly meeting, held on Tuesday last. The returns showed an increase of members on the quarter, and a considerable increase of communicants. The balance sheet revealed a very satisfactory financial state ; after mooting all claims there was a credit balance of nearly £2O on the quarter. The resignation of Mr Henry Ward, who has enlisted, as superintendent of tho Waiorongomai and Te Aroha West was announced and accepted. It was agreed to hold anniversaries of the two mentioned schools during the quarter. A standing vote of sympathy was passed with Mr R. Peterson and family in their sorrow. It was 'resolved to hold a speoial meeting during the quarter for the sole consideration of th? state of the work of God in the circuit.

The next quarterly meeting will be held at Eastport Road on July 10th at 7 p.m.
