School Committee.

A MEETING of the Te Aroha School Committe was held m Monday evening last. Present: —Messrs D. McL. Wallace, E. Devey, Ashby, Maingay, and G. Sherlock (Secretary). Jn the absence of Mr Somers, Mr Wallace was voted to the chair.

Minutes of special and ordinary meetings were read and confirmed. The inspector’s report was read, which proved of a most satisfactory nature. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Devey, seconde 1 by Mr Ashby that the Secretary write to the Board of Education relative to certain matters th it required attention at the school and teacher’s residence.

Several matters affecting the we l fare of tl e school were brought forward and discussed.

The accounts were passed for payment as follows :—Mrs Walker, £2 Is 8d ; D. Wallace, £1 10s 8d ; J. Aguew, £1 8s 8d ; J. B. Johnson, £2 10s ; Jennings & Son, £1 Os ; petty cash, £0 14s lOd. j
