Mangaiti Notes.
(From our own Correspondent.) Inspector C. W. Garrard paid his annual visit of inspection to tbe Mangaiti school during last month, a report of which is just received by the Committee and is very satisfactory. He states that the children are well advanced in their new Standards, and gives the teacher, Miss Keaney, great piaise for the manner in which the school is conducted and the tidy appearance of the school buildings and grounds.
The Ohmemuri County Council is having a lot of work done in these parls while the weather is tine, thanks to our haid-working member <T. Strange. At their last meeting three (contracts were let here, the sanding ut' the newly-formed portion m front of Bradley’s, which will complete it from the Creamery to the county boundary; reforming and metalling a portion of the road from the Sta’ion to the sch ml. which will be a great benefit to the children attending the school in winter; section of new road between Mangaiti and Paeroa, which we hope to see completed through to Paeroa in the course of another year, thus doing away with the rough trip through the Gorge when travelling in that direction.
Our Creamery Manager, Mr Cooper, is at present laid up and under the doctor’s care. All the suppliers, with whom he is a great favourite, wish him [a speedy recovery, and hope to see him lack at his post at an early date fully restored to health.
