TE AROHA v PAEROA

Some four rinks journeyed to Paeroa by the afternoon train on Saturday, to play a friendly match with the Paeroa bowlers. On arrival at Paeroa the Te Aroliaites were heartily welcomed, and a very enjoyable time was spent. A most recherche afternoon tea, neatly laid out in the Club’s pavilion, was provided by the ladies of Paeroa. Whilst Te Arolia beat Paeroa on two rinks the aggregate points were in favour of Paeroa by 81 points to 67. The scores were as follows, the Paeroa players being mentioned first: —Coote, Allan, Balcke, Bromwich (skip), 26, v Brown, Dickson, Spaoner, Wallace (skip), 10 ; Lowe, Niccol, Captain Bettis, Dr Smith (skip), 14, v Salmon, Jansen, Stanley, Dalton (skip), 19; Taylor.
