(By Telegraph—Press Association.) THE HAGUE Yesterday. At the Peace Convention China is supporting Great Britain’s proposal to restrict the employment of anchored ittbmarine mines, and to abolish floating mines. , , The Chinese representatives stated that hundreds of Chinese fishermen and sailors perished through submarine mines during the Russo-Japanese War. At the Peace Convention Japan proposed to prohibit vessels bound to the scene of hostilities from victualling or coaling at neutral ports. Great Britain supported the proposal, and Russir and France opposed it The American Peace Society presented Nelidoff, the Russian delegate to the r Ha one Convention with a petition signed by °two million Americans in favour of international arbitration as a means of limiting the armaments. Nelidoff replied tl at the armaments would naturally diminish if the Convension promoted of friendly settlement of differences.
