In the semi-final for the Doubles’ Championship, Brookes and Wilding beat Ritchie and Casdagli (3 to love). For several weeks rain has severely affected the fruit and agricultural prospects of the Hnited Kingdom, and hay is rotting in the fields. The report of the National Bank of New Zealand shows a profit of £87,400. A dividend at the rate of 10 par cent, and a bonus at the rate of 2 per cent, were declared. Added to premises account, £15,000 ; to reserve £25,000; carried forward, £10,318. NEW YORK, Yesterday. . Mr John D. Rockefeller, the oil king, has been subpoenaed to appear at the Chicago Federal Court on July 8 to testify with respect to the financial condition of the Standard Oil Trust. After long evading service, Mr Rockefeller was discovered, by a ruse, at the residence of bis son-in-law. at Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
