Martha Extended. —The stopes upon either side of the main double pass have been worked up to the intermediate level, and the manager has now got several men employed in the work of " billing" so as to secure the adjoining blocks of ground. From the stopes north and south of the winze, beneath the floor of the low level, there is now n, large quantity of good stone coming to hand. and this is shaping for a good return at the battery where 20 head of stampers are kept running continuously. Union. —Several men are now engaged in bagging 20 tons of quartz, which the management purpose sending Home for sale. The stopes above the low level are yielding a large amount of qunrtz, and this is accumulating so quickly iti the paddock that it has been decided to send a large parcel to the Martha battery for treatment. A contract for carting has been let to a Katikati settler, and it vas arranged that he should s l,art operations this morning. Silverton. —ln tho low level, the footwall branch of the lode has been, driven upon for a distance of 65ft south of the winze. This portion of tho lode keeps an average thickness of 2ft Gin, and ab every breaking down the precious metal is freely visible. In tiie paddocks there are now about 15 tons of quartz stacked, and judging from tho amount of gold showing in the stone this should yield a highly remunerative return. Rosemont. —Satisfactory progress is being made by the contractors with the extension of the low level tunnel, which is now in a distance of 260ffc, and the cohntry in the face of the level yesterday' was all of that class which is generally found running in company with goldbearing reefs in this district. Kimbeily. —Good headway is being made with the prospecting tunnel which has now beeu driven a distance of 64ft; and the last few" feet of driving has been through a- favourable channel of country. The manager expects to drive a considerable distance ahead of the present face before meeting with the reef formation, which outcrops in the adjoining claim.
