OHINEMURI. FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Paeroa, Friday.

1 J The football match "between the Victoria (Thames) and Paerda Clubs which came off in Mr VV. U. Nicholls paddock on Saturday last, was attended by a large number of people, bailing 1 from rill parts of the district. The' clubd were represented as follows : — Victoria : Irwin (capt.), Brownlee, Dare, McLichlin, McGregor, May, Robinson, Lynch; Lynch, McCallum (2), Murry, OBrien, Greenville, and Stewart. Paeroa : Ellis (capt.), Mcdonnell, Silling, Grant, Hatton, Mangan, Rae, Humphreys, Quinn, Dinar, Mases, Manning, Whitaker, Clarke, and Powell. Paeroa won the choice of goals, and elected to take the southern goal, which enabled them to have .the wind in their favodr for the first 45 minutes. Although the Paeroa team were not well up in various points of the game, their opponents had to admit that they were very hot members when it came to " scrimmaging." When timo was called the score stood as follows : Victoria 13 points, Paeroa nil. After tho game, the local team entertained the visitors at Nick's Hotel, where the whole party spent a very pleasant evenii'g. The first meeting- of the Ohinemnri Agricultural and Horticultural Society was held in the Public Hall here on Saturday evening last. The President (Mr R. A. Wight), war in the chair, and read a copy of the rules which had been prepared by the committee for the guidance of the society. These were discussed clause by clause, and after some slight alterations were unanimously adopted.
