At Halifax, N.S., several British warships have assembled, and it is considered an ominous sign, though it is explained that it has no connection with the fishery trouble. One or two American schooners have been seized. The police have seized a quantity of rifles, bayonets and swords on board of a steamer from Fleetwood, a seaport town of Lancashire, England, consigned to parties in Armagh. The Queen will return to Windsor Castle in the third week in June. Gladstone's respectful suggestion to her to remain at Windsor Castle until after the division on the Home Rule Bill had no effect, and her refusal to remain has caused a bad impres- ' eion throughout the country. The whole Austrian press is excited over the Moscow utterance. The " Neue Freie -Presse" compares them to the distant rumbling of a simoon. The "Presse," the organ of Count Von Taafe, President of the Council, says : " Russia may well count the number of hor enemies before thinking of war with Turkey." A. H. Smith, a Boston engineer, formerly in the employ of the Panama Canal Company, gives the papers some surprising stories about De Leesepa's extravagance and the shiftessness of the Company's management. The usual ceremonies held on the Saturday following the anniversary of the Queen'a birthday were celebrated in London. The Prince and Princess of Wales and most of the nobility witnessed the parade of the Horse Guards, whicn was very imposing. Mme. Patti-Nicolini has signed a contract to appear at New York in the first of a series of operatic concerts. The tour will I take in California and Mexico, and her manager says this will be her very last final farewell. Boucicault's first reception on reaching London (says a despatch of May 31) was by a, Court officer serving a summons for a divorce suit, at the instance of Agnes Robertson Boucicault, under the advice of their children, whose birthright is impugned by the Australian marriage ceremony It is understood use will be made of Boucicault's affidavit in charging the first marriage as legal in New York Distinguished counsel are employed for Mrs Boucicault. The defendant's friends say the suit will be contested strongly.
