Maketu Safe. Maketu, 12.15 p.m.
Mr Benner, Postmaster at Maketu, reports that the atmospheric disturbances caused darkness until 10 a.m. There were earthquakes lasting from 2.30 a.m. till 8.15 a.m. with very strong lightning and earth currents. The Post-office did not suffer any damage.
