THE SCULLIING CHAMPIONSHIP. Match between Beach and Teemer.

(BY CABLE. — COPYRIGHT.)

London, October 26. A sculling match has taken place between Teemer and Hanlan, in which the latter was defeated.

Sydney, October 27. A sculling match for £500 a-side and the championship of the world has been arranged between Beach, the champion, and Teemer, who recently defeated Hanlan. Beach allows Teemer £100 expenses. [This announcement, coming immediately after the cablegram announcing Teemer'a victory over banian, invests it with the greatest importance, the position being that Hanlan has now been beaten by both Beach and Teemer, and that the two latter have arranged to try conclusions for the enviable position of champion of the world. It is almost certain, although nothing of the kind is indicated in ihe cablegram, that the great struggle will take place on ths Paramatta River, Beach having expressed his determination never to row elsewhere for the championship. Previous to having defeated Hanlan, Teemer— who is said to be America's most promising sculler —defeated Gaudaur, Planted, » cc, Hosmer, Wallace Ross, Elliott, Bamm, Conley, and many others. He was born at Pennsylvania on July Bth, 1864, so that he is now slightly over 21 years old. He stands sft Bin in height, and in condition weighs 1521b5.]
