Shocking Outrage in Poland.

The " Dziennik Poznanski " gives the following remarkable story:— One of the inhabitants of the Polish town Lladoun, named Kammer, a publican, received an anonymous letter, v hioh stated that his daughter, who had been Hurried tor five years to a co-religionist named Rosenzweid, was that night in great danger. The father, greatly alarmed, fetched the daughter and her infant child to spend the night in his own house. About midnight the hou»e was surrounded by soldiers belonging to an artilleiy regiment stationed in the town, and a gendarme knocked at the door, demanding that it should be opened, on a pretext that a light was burning in the tavern, contiary to the orders of the police. The dour was hard iy opened when the -taff Captain Koreuiew, dressed in the uniform of the police, two civilians, some gendarmes, and a number of other soldiers forced their way in. They ordered the daughter to go with them, and on her refusal they tore her out of bed and turned her out of the house almost naked, and with hur baby in her arms. Her father and step-mother were pinioned and gagged, and then theinvaders proceeded to take possession of all the money, clothes, furniture and valuables on which they could lay their hands. Help from without was not forthcoming, for the neighbouring houses were surrounded by soldiers, who allowed no one to pass. The watchmen, who hurried to the spot when the alarm was given, were warned to keep their distance. The daughter and her child were led away The woman was baptized in church next day, and forced to marry a quartermaster's I sergeant ; three days after, her infant was also baptised. The details of this outrage, says the "Jewish World," seem inciedible, and we almost hope to hear them contradicted. Failing this, all lovers of justice will sympathise in our anxiety to learn what has been done to redress the wrongs of those so cruelly injured.
