WESLEYAN CHURCH QUARTERLY MEETING.
Tub quarterly mooting 1 of the Wesley art Upper Thames Circuit was held in the Paeroa Church on Monday, March 21, the Rev. H. Bull in the chair. A later was read from Mr H. 13 ut tic who was unable to be present. The Rev. Mr Marshall reported 4'J church members, with one on probation for membership. Tlie income, including £5 Is 8 I balance from previous quarter, was £54 7s 7d> and the expenditure £51 i)sl()d, loavinif a balance of £2 17s i)d. Permission, was granted for holding a Sunday School anniversary at Te Aroha during the quarter. A suitable resolution was adopted in commendation of the services rendered by Mr Johnson as local preacher, lie having lately removed to the Thames. The circuit minister, with Messrs Buttle and Bennett, were appointed a committee to arrange for the incoming minister's location. Mr Bennett was appointed prayer leader for Te Aroha, and Mr Tinda'l Society Steward for Wai I on. Thanks wen? passed to Mr Evcritt, of Te Aroha, and Mr Murphy, of \V\iiorongonui. On the motion of Air Tetley, seconded by Mr Phillips, a'd supported by Mr Bennett, the following resolution was heartily and unanimously adopted i " This being t\ie last quarterly meeting at which the liev» Mr Marshall will be present, previous to his removal to the Bay of Islands circuit^ this meeting hereby places on recoi'd its sense of Mi* ! Marshall's high Christian character and devotion to his Master's work in this 1 circuit, and wishes him God's speed ami blessing in the circuit to which he has been appointed by the Conference." Mr Marshall spoke suitably in reply, and a parting hymn .vas snng. It was decided to hold the next quarterly meeting in Tu Aroha on Tuesday, June 24th, 18XL
