INCREASE IN FOOD PRODUCTION. Received 8.45 CAPETOWN, Feb 17. In his Budget speech the Finance Minister announced the surplus for the current year was £464,000. It Is estimated that next year there will be a deficiency of £403,000 ,but it is expecxted this will be wiped out without further taxation. The Minister emphasised the marked increase in the production of foodstuffs and Industries since the war began.
