Tlio Chief Postmaster, Christohurch, advises that the Paloona, which left Melbourne for Wellington on November 22, is bringing 24 bags and one hamper of mail to Christehurcb. The Tahiti, which left Sydney for Auckland on the same day, has four bags and nine hampers for Christchurch. The Wheat Controller's office advises that threshing roturus to date show 4,300,886 bushels of wheat as having been threshed to November 23. Contracts to purchase 3,711,367 bushels of good milling wheat and 78,375 bushels of fowl wheat have been made. The amount paid to farmers through the Government brokers amounts to £1,512,888, representing 3,804,742 bushels.
