PRISONERS SENTENCED.

' WELLINGTON, September 6. j In the Supremo Court today, his Honour Bir John Salmond sentenced the following- prisoners, who had pleaded i guilty in the lower court: — Sinclair Gordon Cook, for theft ami, escaping from custody, was sentenced to one year's hard labour ami three years' reformative treat i»ent. Thomas Chiug Ting, a Chinese, for forgery and uttering, was sentenced to one year's hard labour. Frank Williams, for making a false statement under the Births and Deaths Registration Act, was lined £lO, in default a mouth's imprisonment. Henry Hubert Silk,for theft of money from the Grand Opera House, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment and two years' reformative treatment. "William Banks, for breaking and enteing and theft, received one year's imprisonment. Charles Valentine. Atkins, for theft, was sent to gaol of six months. Isabella Cousins, for perjury and false declaration of the paternity of a child, was admitted to probation for one year. Elizabeth Qneeuie Sink, for making a false declaration under the Births and Deaths Registration Act, was fined £lO, in default one month's imprisonment.
