Tapper and family have gone to Akaroa for a short holiday. Miss Irene Smith (Opawa) returned to Christchureh this morning from Wellington. Miss Coleen Macfarlaue has returned to Kaiwara after a few days in town, following on her trip to the South Sea Islands. Mr and Mrs Norman McLean and Miss Townseud (Amberley) and Miss M. B. Kirk (LondoiC are'amongst the guests at the Clarendon. The Christchureh High School Old Girls" Association dance will take place next Wednesday evening in the Art Gallery. The evening was devoted to dancing, interspersed with games and competitions. A large number of usaful articles were received for Miss Blackler "s future liome. The employees of the National Electrical and Engineering Co. held a dance at the Caledonian Hall on Thursday evening. Woods's orchestra supplied the music, and musical items were contributed by Mrs Reeves, Mrs Colgau and Mr E. V. Colgan. • Among those present were:-—Mesdames Cooke, Clark, Donaldson and Peterson, and Misses Mileson, Gillman (2), Clark (2), Hanna, Knowles. Colgan and Thomson. Mrs F. M. Warren, ''Waipuna," Clyde Road, gave a jolly little dance last night for the young friends of her : daughter, Dora, and her son, Harmon. Dancing took place in the billiards room, music being supplied by Miss Macdonald, with extras by Miss Wanda Warren, Miss Joy Andrews and Master C. Drury. A delicious supper was served in the dining-room, the tables being decorated with daffodils and flowering shrubs. The drawing-room, smoking-room ami verandahs were used as lounges. Mrs Warren wore black liberty satin, veiled iu champagne georgette, embroidered in black; Miss Warren was in pale blue satin, and Miss Wanda Warren in a charming pale green crepe de Chine frock. Miss Dora Warren was in a simple little pale blue crepe de Chine dress. The guests included the 'Misses Joy Andrews, .loan Jamieson. Bona Matson, D. Beadel, B.
