MONTHLY MEETING. The Canterbury Centre of the S.P.C.A. met last evening, there being present: Mr .1. O. Jameson (in the chair), Alesdames Cross and Turner, Messrs «L Spiller and ,T. C. Lord. Mr J. S. Day was appointed auditor to the centre. It was decided to approach North Canterbury members of Parliament in regard to the prohibition of live pigeon shooting. The inspector reported that, following on an invitation, he had given a demonstration to about 40 police constables on the best method of humanely killing n horse. He also reported having visited the various saleyards, etc., throughout the month. The inspector's report Was adopted. The resignation of Mr C. S. Thomas, as one of the centre's honorary solicitors, was accepted with regret.
