BLUE UNIFORMS.
THE " STRIKE " INCIDENT.
In connection with the attitude taken i up by many of the soldier patients at] the Christchurch Hospital in refusings to attend in. their bluo uniforms a | garden party arranged by their Excellencies the Governor-General and Lady Liverpool, the following order has been issued by Lieut.-Colonel D. S. Wylie, officer commanding men undergoing treatment:— "The officer commanding regrets that certain of the patients of the hospital saw fit on Tuesday last, the 11th inst., I to so far forget themselves as soldiers and men as to behave in a manner which can only bo described as discourteous in the extreme, and Avishes to point out that grievances, real or imaginary, can never be rectified by be-1 haviour such as they were guiity of. Conduct of this kind not only reflects l on them, but on their comrades, as well as the hospital in which they are, and renders the acceptance of invitations on their behalf in the future difficult, if i not impossible." j A further order regarding local leave | states:—"On and after Friday next, the 14th inst., the hour at which patients must return to hospital is altered from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m. Later leave from this will only be granted on special application and for special reasons."
