CHAOS IN GERMANY.
A CRISIS IMPENDING. (A. & N.Z.) COPENHAGEN, March i. A crisis is impending in Germany owing to the powerlessness of Herr Scheidemann's Government to get the National Assembly to endorse the moderate workers' demands. It is expected that the Government will resign in a few days. The Spartacists are gaining ground owing to the dissatisfaction with the Government. Spartacist agitators are journeying in armoured cars and special trains throughout the country, instigating strikes. General Moereker, commandant of the troops guarding the National Assembly, worked out a plan to crush the strikes in middle Germany. A mob of Spartacist! at Seerfurt attacked Moereker. They thrashed him and tore off his badges and secured a portfolio containing his plans against the strikers. The Berlin newspapers are not publishing owing to the strikes. Other strikes are reported at Salze, Leipzig, and Spandau, and strike riots occurred in Dresden and Konigsberg.
