DOMINION TOURNAMENT. Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 18. The Dominion Bowling Tournament was continued to-day in flue weather. The day's play resulted in a Full Rinks Championship being reduced to three teams—Jury (Karangahake), no losses, and Mclntyre and Kilgour, both Carlton teams, one loss each. Jury and Mclntyrc played 13 heads, but failing light compelled a stop. The score now is: Mclntyre 16, Jury 11. If Mclntyrc wins, Jury plays Kilgour, and the winner meets Mclntyre in the final. If Jury wins, he has to be beaten twice by Kilgour to lose the championship. The Pairs Championship was advanced a further stage, when the following games were played:— Lundon (Wanganui) 23 v. Woolf (United) 19. Truscott (YVaikino) 19 v. Tonkin (West End) 15. Walker (Ponsonby) 21 v. Lundon (Wanganui) 18. KAIAPOI W.M.C. v. OXFORD. A match was played between the Kaiapol Working Men's Club and Oxford, at Kaiapoi, on Saturday. The Kaiapoi Working Men's Club won by four points. K.W.M.C—L. Collins, H. Mnrquet, D. McGregor, J. Brown 30 v. Oxford—Nixen, Hawker, Vincent, Brown 1". K.W.M.C—Richards, McLaughlin, Turnbull, Templcton 15 v. Oxford —Buini, Adams, Foot, .Unison 27. K.W.M.C—Sewcll, Norrie, Baker, YellowIces 20 v. Oxford—Harding, Cooper, Debenham, Wilson 137. SYDENHAM v. RANGIORA. Five rinks from the Sydenham Club visited Rangiora on Saturday, and after a very close contest won by three points, although Rangiora won three of the five games. Results:— Rangiora—Clarke, L. The Sumner Club was visited bv three rinks from the Lyttclton Club on Saturday, Sumner winning by three games to nil. The results were as follow (Lyttclton players being mentioned first) : Newton, Gower, Gcrrard, Sinclair 13 lost to S. East, T. Boulton, R. Piercv, J. S. Neville 20. * McAuliffe, Burnip, MeCormick, J. Gower 11 lost to F. Cooper, J. Harvey, R. Wallace, E. A. Johnson 31. Hudson, Foster, Young, Page 20 lost to F. Marrie, Maples, Chambers, Smithsou 29. LEESTON v. SUMNER. Two rinks from the Leeston Club visited Sumner on Saturday, the home club winning both games. Results, Leeston players being mentioned first:— W. G. Roberts, Dr Gosset, Brown, F. Holly 11 lost to J. Illingworth, Brown, Bromlev F. Partridge 21. Gardiner, Delargey, Eecleton, Johnston 17 lost to F. S. Maddison D. Bates, T. W. Johnson, W. F. Raphael 29.

UNITED CLUB. The following- competitions -were played on the United green during the past week : Champion Rinks—H. Alpfbeat W. Frascr. Alpe with 3 wins and 1 loss and Frascr with 4 wins and 2 losses are the leading teams. Champion Singles—H. Roberts beat \V. Suttie, Atkinson beat McKenzie, Lillington beat A. H. Cooper and Atkinson, Solway beat Butler, Brackenridgc beat A. H. Thompson, Suttie beat A. H. Cooper, McKenzie beat Lillington, F. Lawrle beat Butler, W. Fraser beat S. Smith, F. McCullough beat Atkinson, Middlcton beat Garrigan and Solway, Butler beat Garrigan. Middlcton and Butler each with 6 wins and 2 losses have tied for Section C. A striking illustration of the advance in the value of pearls was afforded recently at Christie's. A necklace of 52 pearls, which was bought in 1863 at a London jeweller's for 110 guineas, brought £ISOO. The number of Austrian combatant prisoners in British hands is 34 officers and 1243 of other ranks, and the number of British combatant prisoners in Austro-Hungarian hands is 12 officers and 75 of other ranks.
