Mrs ('. A. Hutchison (Greymouth) is visiting Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Sidney Pitt (Stratford) arrived from the north this morning. Mrs E. A. Home has returned to Christchurch after a motor tour in tho soul hj.
Mr ami Mis Maurice Harper returned to Lake Heron today after a short stay In town.
Mrs Van Asch returned to Bangiora to-day, accompanied by a party of friends.
Mrs M. A. Duncan and Miss William Wilson (Hokitika) are amongst the guests at the Clarendon. Mr J. P. Lynch (Mayor of Greymouth) and Mrs Lynch are amongst the guests at the, United Service. Mrs J. Price and Miss B. Price (Wanganui) are visiting Christchurch, and are staying with Mrs J. S. Martin. Mr and Mrs G. L. Stead, with Mrs and Miss Hoadley (Napier), are in town, and are staging at the Claris.] ci on.
Miss Ella Moir, who has been staying with her sister, in Camridge Terrace, left ofr Wellington last evening. The Misses Mills (2), who have been visiting Wellington and Chris!church, left to-day for their home in Port Chalmers.
Mrs Freyberg (Wellington) has returned from her visit to Punedin, and is staying for a few days with Mrs T. W. Eowe, Gloucester Street. An afternoon in aid of the Opawa Bed Cross will be held at Mrs Harrild Baxter's house. 38 Ensor's Eoad, Opawa, on Saturday afternoon, April 27. The;e will be cake and apron stalls, afternoon tea, competitions, sweets, and a concert.
Before finishing their season here, the Royal Comic Opera Company paid a visit to the hospital, a very nice little concert being given by members in the Chalmers Ward yesterday afternoon. Needless to say, the patients were more than delighted to have comic opera brought to their bedsides in this kindly manner, and the efforts of the entertainers were highly appreciated in every instance. Misses Gladys Moncrieff, Eva Webber, Addie Leonard, Gladys Baker, Bertha Kenny, Messrs H. Ratcliffe, J. Ralston, H. Reeves, A. McGhie, W. Sinclair, Stanley Odgers, W. Buckley, E. Kaye, J. Brown, J. Bernard, J. Conyngham, and A. Andrew contributed items with great success. Mr F. C. Raphael, in the absence of Dr Fox, thanked the company for their conceit, and a happy afternoon was concluded with the entertainment of the visitors at afternoon tea.
