WEDDINGS.

A very pretty wedding took place in the Avonsido Church this morning, the Rev. Otho Fitzgerald officiating. The bridegroom was Mr Reginald Alfred Perry Francis, of Christchurch, son of the lato Mr Francis, Amberley, and the bride Miss Dorothy Weuslev Piper, third daughter f Mr H. W. Piper, Tailored Street, Christchurch. If there be any truth in the old adage, "nappy is the 4 bride whom the sun shines on," the new Mrs Francis should have a pathway of roses, for a more sunshiny morning js impossible to imagine than the one which smiled upon her Wedding. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, by whom she was subsequently given away, wore a beautiful wedding gown of white satin sroleuse, made with a Court train lined with pale blue, and corsage of georgette. Tiny roses of white georgette and silver tissue gave a very dainty finish to the gown, and the wedding veil was worn in mob cap fashion, and completed with sprays of orange blossoms. A beautiful bouquet of white flowers was carried. Miss Elsie Wilderuoth, who was the maid of honour, wore a lovely frock of amethyst crepe de chine with ninon top, black hat relieved with lemon colour, and bouquet in lemon tints. Miss Thelma Robson, niece of the bride, made a dainty flower-girl in a frock of cream silk shadow lace over crepe de chine, and quaint, mob cap relieved with touches of shell pink. She carried a spray of shell-pink blossoms. The bridegroom was accompanied by his brother, Mr Bert Francis, as best man.

After tho ceremony the bridal party and guests Grove to Broadway's, whee a number of friends were entertaimd at a wedding breakfast in honour of the event. Mrs Piper, mother of the bride, received her guests in a stylish mole.coloured costume, black hat relieved with pink, and carrying an autumntinted bouquet. Mrs T. W. Robson (sister of the bride) wore a chic confection of black georgette over white crepe de chine, black hat relieved with peacock green; Miss Myrtle Piper was in fawn gaberdine, and pretty green hat. Others present included: Mr and Mrs J. Piper, Mr T. W. Robson, Major aul Mrs Conway, Mr and Mrs F. Parsons, Mr and Mrs Burt, Mr and Mrs F. Drayton and Miss Drayton, the Misses Stubberfield, Mrs Francis, Mr and Mrs McDowell, Mr C. 0. Piper ("Wellington), Mrs Wildernoth, Mrs Hitchins, Mrs Sawtcll, Mr J. Collins; (Dunedin), Mr N. Wildernoth, Miss Mazey, Masters Mazey and McDowell.

Yesterday afternoon, at St. Matthew's Church, Mr Henry Frederick Lane, son of Mr H. B. Lane, St. Albans, was married to Miss Olive Emily Bailey, daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles' Bailev, Bishop Street, St. Albans. The Eev. H. Williams, sasisted by the Eev. P. B. Haggitt, performed the ceremony, the bride being given away by her father. She was chnrmingly robed in white Batin, and carried a bouquet of white, flowers veiled in fern fronds.
