LINWOOD SALE OF WORK.
A sale of work was opened yesterday afternoon in the Linwood Presbyterian Schoolroom, in aid of liquidating the church debt. Mr Peter Hercus performed the opening ceremony, there also being on the platform Mr James Tennent (missioner in charge), Mr E. H. Wilson, Mr Bickerstaff, Mr McLean, and Mr Caldow. . In opening the bazaar, Mr Hercus said that he hoped that it would fulfil all the hopes and wishes of the promoters. He had always been interested in the church extension work of St. Paul's. The Church had to follow .the people to the suburbs, and provide them with the means of grace. He was sorry that his dear.friend, the late Mr Jas.
