I —--.■■ % "ANTI-SHOUTING" LAWS. : On the charge sheet at the Magis- . trate's Court this morning there ap- ; peared the names of a large number of ■ persons charged with various breaches 1 of the "anti-treating" laws, as set out • in the War Regulations Act. ; Mr F. W. Johnston, speaking on beI half of himself and the other solicitors - engaged in the eases, said that he and , his legal friends had not had time to go ■ into the cases, owing to the short notice ; given. Accordingly he applied to have , the cases adjourned until Friday, Noi vember 16. ! The following were the cases in question:—John Thomas Souper, licensee, of the Clarendon Hotel, two charges; Maggie McGrath, bar attendant at the Clarendon Hotel, two charges; William George Ives, licensee of the Oxford Hotel, three charges; James Molloy, barman of the Oxford Hotel, three charges; Sidney Dean, licensee of the [ Springston Hotel, three charges; Mrs • Dean, bar attendant at the Springston i Hotel, three charges. Patrick Smith was charged with i paying for liquor on licensed premises, ; such liquor being consumed by another > person, while Robert Ernest Pratley > was charged with consuming liquor paid p for by another person. The adjournments applied for were ; granted.
