"MEN FROM AUSTRALIA."
To the Editor of THE SUN. Sir, —I see you have taken up the question of the wisdom of sending forward 2500 men as reinforcements every two months. You may very'naturally have come to the conclusion that it was the intention to continue these drafts until not a man remained in the Dominion. 1 would point out that your fears are
groundless, us according to an employer’s application to the Second Canterbury Military Service Board, the situations of the young men leaving with the reinforcements are to be tilled by men from Australia. I also note that the application was granted, and the time extended, presumably to enable the employer to get “ a man from Australia.” So you see there may be men from Australia here, exercising the vote, when the last New Zealander has made the supreme sacrifice. —I am, etc., STOCKMAN.
