THE ARAHURA.

WATER LEVEL REDUCED. Press Association. GISBORNE, March 5. Up In noon excellent progress was made in the work of pumping, and the water was reduced to within four feet or five feet of the engineroom plates. A powerful stationary pump is being installed to provide the vessel with independent means of coping with the water when she is refloated. Unfortunately the weather changed about midday, an easterly swell interfering with the moorings of the t;;g boats, and suspending diving operations. The engine-room staff is engaged in blocking up the rivet holes, etc, as the water in the vessel is reduced.
