THE BRITANKIC'S FATE. U-BOATS' LURKING PLACE. Australian i.nrf N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, November 25. The "Daily Chronicle's Athens correspondent states that the Britannic was struck well forward of the starboard hatches. The No. 2 hold was blown 50ft in the air. It is reported that a German submarine recently visited Lauriom, opposite Zea. An officer landed and took aboard a woman, who, it is believed, was concerned in supplying submarines. NO TROOPS ABOARD. The Admiralty, in reply to the German allegation that there was an extraordinary number of people aboard the Britannic, states that the total was 1125, consisting of G25 of a crew and 500 of a medical staff. The German Admiralty denies that the Britannic was sunk by a submarine. A GERMAN ADMISSION. OFFICIAL STORY DENIED. ReUter's Telegrams. LONDON, November L'G, In contrast to the German statement that the Britannic was not torpedoed the "Kieler Zeitung," a wellinformed naval paper, says that she w;.s torpedoed because she carried troops. A COWARDLY TRICK. GERMANY BLAMES TURKS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association LONDON, November 25. It is officially suggested from Berlin that it was a Turkish submarine, recently sold to Turkey by Germany, which was responsible for the sinking of the Britannic. BRAEMAR CASTLE CASE. ONE DROWNED; TEN INJURED. United Service. LONDON, November 24. The "Palris" states that the Braemar Castle was torpedoed 30 miles west of the spot where the Britannic was sunk. Allied aeroplanes saw two submarines between Mitylcne and Zea. Australian and N.Z. C ble Association. LONDON, November 25. There were 400 British sick aboard the Braemar Castle bound for Malta. The casualties were one drowned and 10 injured.
