ALLIES NOT IDLE IN RUMANIA.
VON FALKENHAYN MAY GET A SURPRISE. FURTHER RETREAT DOES NOT 'MEAN DEFEAT. N.Z. Cable Association. (Received November 27, 1J .50 a.m.) LONDON, November 26. The "Weekly Dispatch," in a hopeful review of the situation in Rumania, says: —"While a further Rumanian retreat is y possible, the Allies are not idle. The Rumanian air service is being augmented, and doubtless men and guns are reaching her. "Communiques from Bucharest are likely to retain an anxious note until the veil has been lifted on the happenings in the north. "Movements calculated to have a vital influence on the Rumanian campaign are occurring in Russia. It is not the Russians ' habit to talk until they are ready, as the Austrians and Turks know to their sorrow. "General von Falkenhayivs coup has not yielded him all the benefits anticipated, and lie may find a sterner resistance ahead sooner than he expected."
