NEW ZEALAND SOLDIERS RECEIVE DECORATIONS MILITARY CROSSES AWARDED TO 12 OFFICERS DEEDS THAT WON THE VICTORIA CROSS. A. and N.Z. Cablo Association and Renter. (Received November 27, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, November 26. The Military Cross has been conferred on the following officers of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force: — NEW ZEALAND INFANTRY. Captain Daniel Eric Bremner. Captain Hubert Satchel Harley. 2nd Lieutenant Allan Claude Cooper. 2nd Lieutenant Hassell G. de Forges Garland. 2nd Lieutenant Samuel Thomas Seddon. 2nd Lieutenant Francis Clive G. Upton. NEW ZEALAND RIFLE BRIGADE. 2nd Lieutenant Septimus James Closey. 2nd Lieutenant Wilfred Gordon Harrison. 2nd Lieutenant William Arthur Gray. NEW ZEALAND ENGINEERS. 2nd Lieutenant Jack Lister Braithwaite. NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL CORPS. Captain Ronald Graeme Orbell. NEW ZEALAND CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT. Rev. Clement Houchen, Distinguished Conduct Medals have been awarded to two Australians and four New Zealanders. Seven Victoria Crosses have been awarded, the recipients including : Lieutenant Bradford (Durham Light Infantry), Tcmporaiy Lieutenant-Colonel.—lie assumed command of two battalions, and saved the situation when the flank was endangered. Sergeant Downie (Dublin Fusiliers). —When most of the officers were do.wn, he shouted: "Come on, Dublins!" His stirring appeal was immediately responded to, and the men rushed on. Downie captured a machine gun, killing the crew. The Dublins then captured positions which had withstood five previous attacks.
