SUICIDE.
A SWAGGER'S DEATH. An inquest was held at the morgue by Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M. (coroner) to-day, touching the death of James Oummings, alias Boss, alias Holt, who was found last evening hanging in an empty cotlage on the property of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company at Islington. James Clifton Turk, a power house employee, said he was told about 8.40 p.m. yesterday that there was a man hanging in the old cottage at Islington. Witness went to the cottage, and found the deceased hanging from the ceiling by a strap. Nearby was a kerosene tin on which the deceased had probably stood. Witness sent foir the police. Constable Worsly said that he cut clown the body. He had seen the deceased on November 21, when he appeared to be in ordinary health. He was 50 years of age. A verdict of "death from hanging" was returned. "}
