MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

TO-DAY'S CASES. Mr IT. W. Bishop, S.M., sat at the Magistrate's Court to-day. ROBBING HIS MATE. Robert Hanreiss, alias Roy Harris, was charged with the theft of £7 from Herbert Tavlor between November 16 and 17. Accused was represented by Mr Cassidy, and pleaded guilty. There was also another charge against accused of failing to maintain his wife at Dunedin. Chief-Detective Herbert said the accused and Taylor had been working together at H'nwarden, and were mates. The money was stolen from Taylor while he was asleep. Eight pounds had been found on the man when arrested. The man was convicted and fined £5 on the theft charge, and also ordered to refund the money. He was remanded to appear at Dunedin on the maintenance charge.
