The "Manchester Guardian" says that negotiations for the Government taking over of all licensed houses in the Glasgow area have reached an -advanced stage. It is understood that the basis of the negotiations is a six years' purchase. The demand for excessive terms by licensed grocers is the chief obstacle to the negotiations.
