SCARLET FEVER.
DECLINE IN NUMBER OF CASES
"The most recent returns 1 have had in connection with the epidemic of scarlet fever that has occurred in Canterbury," said the Hon. G. W. Russell to-day, "show that during the last two or three weeks the number of cases in North Canterbury have not exceeded 25 per week for the whole area. I therefore hope that the epidemic has passed its most acute stage," .
