Mrs Vernon has returned to Christchurch, after a visit to Mrs W. Maitland, Dunedin. Colonel and Mrs Bond left by motor yesterday for Argyle, Southland, after Borne time spent in the north. Miss Bidwill (Featherston) is staying with Mrs Betholl, Pahau Pastures. Mrs Forrester and Miss Smith came tip from Oamaru last night, and departed for Hamuer this morning. Hon. and Mrs Tlanan and Mrs Spencer left for the West Coast this morning. , Mrs Walter Macfarlane.(Kaiwara) is in town. Miss C. Duncan (Dunedin) is staying at Warner's. A woman was recently ordained to the ministry in Denmark. She took the theological course at the University of Copenhagen, and her special work for the present is to be in the female prisons of Copenhagen. One of the Danish papers believes that her ordination may be a precedent which will open the work of the general ministry to women.
