The Recruiting Board has advised the Seamen's Union in response to a request for the exemption of seamen of the mercantile marine that, in the event of a ballot result falling on seamen with not less than twelve months sea service, who are regarded by the Minister of Munitions as indispensahle for the mercantile marine, it is intended to recommend the Military Service Boards to grant exemption while the reservists are following their calling as seamen.
