HEAVY FLOODS. LOSSES IN STOCK. By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. SYDNEY, October 5. Reports from the country indicate that there have been heavy losses in stock. There have been several wash-aways and landslips on the southern line blocking the traffic. MANLY INUNDATED. FAMILIES MOVE. SYDNEY, October 5. Thirteen inches of rain have fallen during the past 10 days. Floods in the Manly district have caused eon-j siderable damage to property, and! have forced many families to leave! their homes. COUNTRY INUNDATED. RAILWAY TRAFFIC SUSPENDED. (Received October 0, 10.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, October G. The Novra River is flooded, inundating miles of country. The Macquarie is also flooded. All railway traffic west of Bathurst has been suspended. There is extensive damage to crops and property. EIGHT-HOUR DAY. SPORTS POSTPONED. SYDNEY, October 5. The sports in connection with the Eight Hours Day demonstration have been put off indefinitely. DAMAGES CLAIMED. FIREMAN SUES SHIPPING COMPANY. (Received October G, 10.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, October G. An action has been commenced in which John McKcnzie, a fireman, is claiming £noo damages from the Joan Craig Sle.am Ship Company.
